Michigan State Representative Jason Woolford has introduced House Bill 5098, which aims to protect the state’s unemployment system by preventing the Unemployment Insurance Agency from turning off its fraud detection software.

According to Woolford, “HB 5098 would ensure the integrity of Michigan’s unemployment system by prohibiting the Unemployment Insurance Agency from disabling its Fraud Detection Software System.”

The bill is intended to strengthen safeguards against fraudulent claims and maintain trust in Michigan’s unemployment benefits process.
