Eastern Michigan University will hold a grand opening for its newly redesigned Eastern Outfitters spirit store on Wednesday, January 14. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Student Center, located at 900 Oakwood St., Ypsilanti.
University President James Smith, representatives from eCampus, and members of the EMU community including students, faculty, and staff are expected to attend. The celebration coincides with the start of the winter semester and aims to introduce a modern retail experience for those on campus.
Attendees can expect exclusive giveaways, in-store promotions, refreshments, and an appearance by Swoop, EMU’s mascot. The new store reflects EMU’s partnership with eCampus and features curated merchandise such as branded apparel and accessories related to both EMU and Ypsilanti. An expanded selection of university gear is also available online.
