Eastern Michigan University increases financial aid budget by 2.4% for 2026-27

Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents has approved a $55.1 million budget for financial aid and scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year, representing a 2.4% increase over the previous year.

The university reports that nearly 68% of all students, and about 90% of first-year students, receive some form of financial assistance. The institution offers various programs to support a diverse student body, including first-year, transfer, graduate, and international students.

Key scholarship programs at Eastern Michigan University include the Eastern Tuition Advantage, which covers full tuition costs minus federal aid; the Presidential Scholarship, which provides full tuition along with room and board; and the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship, which offers full tuition for years three and four with a fixed tuition rate for the first two years when students live in campus housing throughout their studies.

Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University is Michigan’s second-oldest public university.
