Eastern Michigan University will elect its next president during a special Board of Regents meeting scheduled for December 10. The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Welch Hall, located on the university’s Ypsilanti campus. Following the board meeting, a press conference featuring the newly elected president is set to take place at 1:30 p.m.
The announcement of the new president concludes a national search process that began in April 2025 and included input from members of the EMU community and local stakeholders. The special session will feature brief remarks from members of the Board of Regents, representatives from the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, and the president-elect.
According to university officials, “The election marks the beginning of a leadership transition for Eastern Michigan University as it continues advancing its mission of academic excellence, student success, and community impact.”
