Eastern Michigan University’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) will hold Sexapalooza, a carnival-themed sexual health fair focused on consent education, sexual assault prevention awareness, and open discussions about sexual wellness. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the EMU Student Center Ballroom in Ypsilanti.
Sexapalooza will bring together community organizations, sexual health educators, and local advocates to engage students in conversations about holistic wellness. Approximately 15 vendors are expected to participate, offering students a variety of accessible resources. The event aims to make sexual health education more common and create an environment where students can find accurate information and connect with knowledgeable partners in a safe setting.
“Sexapalooza is the perfect event to reimagine creative ways to normalize sexual health education at the college level,” said Kimberly Ferrell, coordinator of the Women’s Resource Center. “This event helps to de-stigmatize sexual health and healthy relationships and increase awareness of consent. It will be a very empowering experience that engages students in healthy, comfortable dialogues about sexual health care along with mental, emotional and psychological wellness with community experts and advocates.”
The Multicultural Greek Council launched Sexapalooza in 2017 as a way for Greek Life and student organizations to promote creative programming around healthy relationships and open dialogue about sexual wellness. Since its start, the initiative has attracted campus interest.
“I’m looking forward to Sexapalooza because it creates a judgment-free space where students can ask honest questions, build knowledge, and feel empowered about their sexual health,” said Kegan Tulloch, WRC graduate programmer. “It means a lot to be part of an event that connects students with community partners to promote education, awareness, and healthier choices for everyone.”
The event is organized in partnership with Campus Life, the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and Fraternity and Sorority Life.
