The Grand Valley State Lakers, featuring former Chelsea High School star Avery Lay, triumphed 83-50 over the Maryville Saints in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 13.
The contest, held at GVSU Fieldhouse at 5 p.m., marked the teams’ initial meeting in the tournament.
Grand Valley State will play again on Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at GVSU Fieldhouse.
