The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on April 14 that concrete repairs will begin April 15 on nearly four miles of I-194 and M-66 between Capital Avenue Northeast and Golden Avenue in Calhoun County. The project, carried out with contractor Rigid Pavement Construction, is expected to continue until May 25.
This work will affect the Battle Creek area, with single-lane closures planned during the construction period. The department said this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support five jobs based on economic modeling. Officials noted that patching the roadway “will improve the ride quality and extend the life of the pavement.”
