MDOT to add left-turn lanes on US-12 near Edwardsburg starting April 20

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on April 14 that it will begin construction to add left-turn lanes on US-12 at the Beebe Road and Adamsville Road intersections near Edwardsburg. The project is scheduled to start Monday, April 20, and is expected to be completed by Friday, June 12.

The addition of these turn lanes aims to improve safety and traffic flow at two busy intersections in Cass County. According to MDOT, the $722,255 investment is projected to directly and indirectly support six jobs through economic modeling.

During construction, single-lane closures will be in effect with traffic regulators managing vehicle flow. The work is part of ongoing efforts by MDOT to enhance road safety across the state.

The Michigan Department of Transportation manages nearly 10,000 miles of state highways, more than 4,800 bridges, over 2,700 miles of non-motorized trails, and various other transportation infrastructure according to the official website. The department has more than 2,800 employees working across seven regions and multiple facilities statewide according to the official website.
