The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on April 8 that a paving project will begin April 13 on M-50, stretching from M-124 south to Handy Highway in Brooklyn.
The project is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 6 p.m. on June 3. According to the department, intermittent single-lane closures will be required during the construction period, and motorists should anticipate delays.
This $1.9 million investment is projected to support approximately 16 jobs through direct and indirect economic activity. MDOT said lane closures are necessary for safety reasons, stating that “closing the lanes will ensure the safety of workers and motorists. The improvements will provide drivers with a safer, smoother ride.”
