City of Niles issued the following announcement on Mar 15.

Last year, our downtown planters received some much needed TLC from the River Essence Group.  A newly formed group, they aim to beauty our downtown all year long.  From planters in the spring, to fall décor and holiday cheer in the winter, they have brought a festive atmosphere to our downtown streetscape for each season.

In order to keep the merriment going, River Essence Group and Front Street Pizza Pub, 510 N Front, have teamed up for a fundraiser that’s sure to put a smile on your face.  Their Pledge to Plunge event is set to take place on April 2 at 12:00pm.  Each participating team, seen below, is trying their hardest to raise the most money for the cause.  To participate, you can Venmo River Essence Group or drop off donations at one of the businesses listed in the picture below.  $1 = 1 Vote for your favorite plunger!  Plungers will be competing to see who can rally their troops and raise the most money from March 1- March 31.  For more information on voting, visit their Facebook Event Page here.

Once all the funds have been tallied, stop by Front Street Pizza Pub to see your favorite plunger get dunked on April 2!  Spectators will need a $5.00 donation to watch the festivities.  The donation will include food, music, and a front row seat to watch all your favorites get dunked.  What do you think, can you stay out of the splash zone?  We’ll see you there!
