On Sunday, December 11, the Portage Department of Public Safety will host “Stuff a Fire Truck,” a donation drive benefitting Twelve Baskets Food Pantry, from 10 AM to 3 PM at Sam’s Club on South Westnedge Avenue.  Donations of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable foods; home care and paper products; and laundry, personal care, and baby care items will be accepted.  Portage police officers and firefighters will be on hand to accept your donations.

Twelve Baskets Food Pantry is a nonprofit 501c3 food pantry serving the community in Portage, Schoolcraft, Vicksburg, and Three Rivers. The pantry’s mission is “to lead the fight against hunger in our community by bridging the gap between the need and the excess while restoring hope, dignity, and self-respect.” The pantry serves more than 100 local families every week by distributing food and personal care items. Twelve Baskets operates on donations and volunteers from the community.
