City municipal offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25.
In addition, there will be no curbside collections of trash/compost/recycling on Thanksgiving Day. Instead, regular Thursday collections will take place the following day, and Friday collections will be delayed to Saturday, Nov. 26.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a $5.1 million resurfacing project on US-10 in Midland and Clare counties starting June 8. The effort includes lane restrictions through mid-August for roadwork aimed at improving safety.
Routine washing of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge will cause intermittent lane closures from June 1 to June 4. The Michigan Department of Transportation advises motorists to expect delays during scheduled cleaning times.
Traffic signal upgrades at US-41 and MacInnes Drive in Houghton will take place June 1–3. Lane closures are scheduled for June 2 as crews install new equipment. Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution.
