76 percent of applicants to Eastern Michigan University were admitted for fall 2018

At Eastern Michigan University, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Ypsilanti enrolled 19,123 students in fall 2018, including 16,022 in undergraduate and 3,101 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

84 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 15 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (63 percent) and Black or African American (18 percent).

The school admitted 76 percent of the 14,577 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
