City of Novi recently issued the following announcement.
Here's the latest from the Great Lakes Water Authority on the Water Main Repair. Crews are working diligently to implement repairs to the transmission main break along 14 Mile Road. The 1.5 mile long section of the main has been isolated and dewatered. This allowed the opportunity to conduct a condition assessment of the pipe, which included a detailed physical inspection.
As a result of this inspection, the GLWA has identified some additional necessary work that will improve the life cycle of the main. The scope of the additional work will extend the repair timeline into January. Throughout this repair process, impacted communities will continue to have water flow at the level they have been experiencing since the main broke.
This means some areas in northeast Novi closer to the impacted site at 14 Mile and Drake will continue to experience lower water flow levels for the rest of December. The city’s water is still safe. There is no boil water advisory at this time. We will share more information when it becomes available.
