2022 Grizzlies Spring Sports Start Up Information

Ypsilanti Community Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 24.

Sports Physicals

In order to participate in Spring Sports for the Ypsilanti Community Grizzlies, student athletes must have a current sports physical that was completed on or after April 15, 2021. Physicals can be done by a family doctor or free of charge to all students at the University of Michigan Regional Alliance for Healthy Students Clinic or R.A.H.S. Clinic. There are two University of Michigan R.A.H.S. Clinics located at Ypsilanti Community High School and Ypsilanti Community Middle School. To make an appointment at the R.A.H.S. Clinics call the numbers below for an appointment.

School of Choice Eligibility for non Y.C.H.S. Students

Washtenaw International High School (W.I.H.I.) and Early College Alliance (E.C.A.)

Students who attend Washtenaw International High School (W.I.H.I) and Early College Alliance (E.C.A.) must be Ypsilanti Community High School School of Choice Students in order to play sports for the Y.C.H.S. Grizzlies. Check with the school office to know your school of choice status.

Washtenaw Technical Middle College (W.T.M.C.)

Students who attend W.T.M.C. must live in the Ypsilanti Community School District in order to participate in Y.C.H.S. Athletics. Check with the school office to know your school district designation.

Academic Eligibility

Students must have passed at least 66% of their 2021-2022 first semester classes in order to be academically eligible to participate in spring sports.

Parent/Student Athlete Meeting

A meeting for all student athletes and their parents will be held prior to the season starting on Thursday March 10, 2022 at 6;00 PM in the Y.C.H.S. Library Media Center. The meeting will also be available to view virtually. The link will be given at a later date.
