Congratulations to Officer Steven Dye on his retirement!
He spent the first two years of his career at another agency before following in his father’s footsteps and joining the AAPD, where he assumed his father’s retired badge number. In his 23 year AAPD career he was assigned and trained in a variety of specialties: road patrol, 2 ½ years on the Dedicated Neighborhood Downtown Team, Mountain Bike Unit, Traffic Officer, Crash Investigation Unit (since 2006) and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (since 2009). He’s also assisted training our new recruits in the in-house academy and assisted with several recruiting/hiring processes.
He twice earned the department’s lifesaving award – “one of the biggest highlights of my career was saving a man’s life with the AED along with CPR from another officer and a doctor at a crash scene”. Job well done, Officer Dye. Enjoy the next chapter!
