TRUEMU Night at Comerica Park on Thursday, August 1, drew more than 500 alumni, students, employees, and supporters for a night of baseball and Eastern Michigan University pride in Ypsilanti.
In addition to a donation of $5 for every ticket sold through the Tigers/EMU page, participants received a limited edition specially-branded green quarter-zip featuring the Tigers and Eastern logos. Guests at the game were also treated to a performance from the EMU dance team and mascot Swoop during the 7th inning stretch "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
A pregame event hosted by the EMU Office of Alumni and Donor Engagement started the night with free beverages and snacks, plus opportunities to visit and take photos with the dance team and Swoop.
"Eastern Michigan nights at the park are always special," said Maher Salah, Eastern Michigan University vice president for advancement. "It was a beautiful night and we appreciate the turnout from the EMU community. This tops off a year of activity that included EMU alumni events at the Red Wings, Pistons, and the Detroit City Football Club. Stay tuned for next year’s schedule!”
