Eastern Michigan University will host The Temptations during a special halftime performance with the EMU Marching Band on Oct. 12 at Rynearson Stadium. Limited meet and greet/photo opportunity tickets are now available, along with a chance to win a unique family experience.

The Temptations originated in Detroit during the 1960s and helped reshape the music industry after signing with Motown Records. In 2022, Detroit native and EMU alum Jawan M. Jackson joined the group, creating another special tie to Eastern Michigan University.

“The EMU Marching Band is sponsoring an experience that doubles down on its mission to support the local community,” said J. Nick Smith, associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at Eastern. “With that vision in mind, EMU is offering an opportunity to meet the legendary Temptations and have a professional photo taken and sent to them to post on social media, share with family and friends, and cherish forever.”

EMU is offering a limited access meet and greet/photo opportunity prior to their halftime performance, with a professional photo included. These tickets, priced at $100 per family, are expected to sell quickly. A ticket to the Oct. 12 football game is required to participate in the meet and greet/photo opportunity.

Additionally, families of up to four members can register for a special chance to watch a rehearsal with the EMU Marching Band, attend a luncheon with The Temptations and corporate donors, among others, and enjoy seats for the football game at Rynearson Stadium. One family will be selected. Applications are due Sept. 20, with winners announced on Oct. 1.

To apply for the family experience or purchase meet-and-greet tickets, visit the university's website.

Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University serves more than 13,000 students pursuing various degrees through its Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Business; Education; Engineering and Technology; Health and Human Services; and its graduate school.
