Eastern Michigan University’s College Panhellenic Association has received the 2024–25 Innovation in Recruitment Award from the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). This award recognizes creative and effective strategies in sorority recruitment. EMU was one of 39 campuses nationwide to earn this distinction, joining institutions such as Arizona State University, Auburn University, and Colorado State University.
Alyssa Mohr, coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life at Eastern Michigan University, said, “This recognition reflects the dedication, collaboration, and leadership of our Panhellenic community. Our student leaders reimagined recruitment in a way that prioritized inclusivity, authenticity, and connection. I’m proud of the way our College Panhellenic embraced innovation to serve potential new members better.”
The Innovation in Recruitment Award is given to associations that implement strategies to improve the sorority recruitment process. At EMU, the Panhellenic executive board and chapter leaders worked together on outreach efforts, provided education about the sorority experience, and made recruitment more accessible for students.
Mohr added, “Eastern’s College Panhellenic is student-led and continues to serve as a model for collaboration and impact. We’re grateful to the NPC for recognizing the work being done here on our campus.”
College Panhellenic Associations operate across campuses in the United States and Canada with a focus on scholarship, leadership, service, and personal growth.
Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University is Michigan’s second oldest public university. The university serves nearly 13,000 students who are enrolled in undergraduate through doctoral programs spanning over 300 academic areas across its various colleges.
