Ottobock North America will hold its Full Circle Movement event in Ypsilanti on September 27, in partnership with Eastern Michigan University’s Orthotics and Prosthetics program. The free event, scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. at the Olds/Marshall/Parks Outdoor Track, is open to all ages and mobility levels.

The event aims to support prosthesis users and individuals with limb loss or limb difference by providing movement activities led by certified clinicians and Paralympic-level experts. The program also gives students and professionals in orthotics and prosthetics a chance to see how mobility solutions are applied outside clinical settings.

Lucas Crisanti, clinical specialist and coach at Ottobock North America, said, “At Ottobock, we believe movement is for everyone. Partnering with Eastern allows us to reach future O&P leaders while empowering the limb loss and limb difference community through Full Circle Movement. It’s about building bridges between education, innovation, and inclusion.”

On September 26, Ottobock will offer a continuing education course called “The Athlete’s Corner” at EMU’s Student Center. The course provides three continuing education credits for practicing clinicians and includes hands-on training with a live patient model focused on improving running prostheses.

Eastern Michigan University offers one of the nation’s leading Master of Science programs in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Rebecca Spragg, program director at EMU, stated, “The EMU Orthotics and Prosthetics program aims to provide students with hands-on experiences to elevate their education and impact the community. The Full Circle Movement event is one way we can make a difference in the lives of our students and our local community.”

Ottobock has been active for over a century in developing wearable bionics such as prosthetics, orthotics, exoskeletons, and other mobility solutions across more than 135 countries.

Eastern Michigan University was founded in 1849 as Michigan’s second oldest public university. It currently serves nearly 13,000 students across more than 300 academic programs through several colleges.
