Eastern Michigan University is set to hold its annual Homecoming celebration this week under the theme “Paint it Green.” The event will bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members for a series of activities on campus.

Homecoming festivities will start on Wednesday, September 17, with a Kick-off Picnic in the lower-level dining room of the Student Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The picnic will offer food, activities, and giveaways for students, faculty, and staff as part of the official start to the week’s events.

Scheduled activities throughout the week include Build Your Own Eagle and a Homecoming T-shirt exchange. Traditional events such as the Alumni and Friends Tailgate and Saturday’s football game against Louisiana are also planned. Other highlights include the Yard Show and Trap Karaoke.

“Homecoming is about bringing the entire EMU family together—whether you’re a student experiencing it for the first time, or an alum returning to campus,” said Celia Murkowski, chair of the 2025 Homecoming Committee. “Our theme, ‘Paint it Green,’ is all about showing pride, celebrating traditions, and creating new memories that connect us all to Eastern. The energy on campus during Homecoming is unmatched, and we can’t wait to see everyone come out and be part of it.”
