June teenth Walk for Racial Justice
Event Description:
All are invited to celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. This event is open to the community and is hosted by the Ann Arbor branch of the NAACP and the Protectors of Equality in Government in partnership with the City of Ann Arbor. Join the event anytime 9 a.m.-noon in a 1-mile walk for racial justice beginning at Fuller Park (1519 Fuller Road) and travel along the Border-to-Border trail to Wheeler Park (200 Depot St.). Noon-2 p.m., Wheeler Park will be the host site of featured speakers, videos and a time for reflection. A group of up to 100 people are permitted to gather, or join online as a virtual participant. Participants are encouraged to wear masks and remain 6 feet apart from others at all times. Email volunteer@a2gov.org to register for the online event.
