23 percent of applicants to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, 98 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Ann Arbor enrolled 46,716 students in fall 2018, including 30,318 in undergraduate and 16,398 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

53 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 43 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Asian (15 percent).

The school admitted 23 percent of the 64,917 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 45 percent enrolled.
