Michigan Medicine issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
STUDY: Lowering blood sugar levels and losing weight can help combat diabetes complications like diabetic neuropathy, but U-M researchers say this “one size fit all” approach ignores other risk factors, like gender, annual income, access to medical insurance and level of education.
For the one in 10 Americans with diabetes, how to best manage and slow the progression of the disease is often a top concern.
Diabetes requires a lifelong commitment to having a healthy diet, exercising regularly and taking the right amount of insulin.
