Eastern Michigan University is set to host the annual Digital Divas Conference on October 25, 2024. The event aims to inspire 200 high school girls from Southeast Michigan to explore careers in STEM fields. Participants will gather at EMU’s Student Center Ballroom in Ypsilanti for a day filled with learning opportunities and workshops.

The conference will feature prominent speakers, including EMU Provost Rhonda Longworth, Representative Felicia Brabec of the 33rd House District, and Andria Sperry, CEO and founder of The Future Innovators Academy. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with breakout sessions scheduled throughout the day.

"Digital Divas brings together leading professionals, educators, and industry experts to share their insights, stories, and guidance with participants," according to the organizers. Attendees will have the chance to engage in hands-on workshops covering topics such as construction, interior design, electrical engineering, and more.

Sponsors for this year's conference include Toyota, Wacker, AAUW-Ann Arbor Branch, ITC Holdings Corp., and DTE Foundation. Some of the highlighted sessions are "Cosmetic Chemistry with EMU Chemistry," "Build Your Own Candy Randomizer with Promess," "The Egg Drop Challenge with the National Society of Black Engineers," and "VR and Interior Design with EMU Interior Design."
