Eastern Michigan University has announced Amari Rosenburg from Interlochen, Michigan, as a 2024 Presidential Scholar. Rosenburg is among 21 students chosen for this honor, recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and community commitment.

The EMU Presidential Scholarship is the university's most prestigious award, covering full tuition, fees, and room and board for four years. It is valued at up to $100K. Recipients are active members of The Honors College at EMU.

Rosenburg plans to study abroad in New Zealand during her sophomore year. "Receiving this scholarship means an enormous amount to me," she said. "I can start the process of becoming a physical therapist and get the chance to study abroad because of this financial support."

A graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School, Rosenburg is pursuing degrees in biology and mathematics at EMU. She aims to specialize in physical therapy for individuals with disabilities after graduation. In high school, she participated in various organizations including the National Honors Society and the Quiz Bowl.

Rosenburg also joined a global service trip to Guanajuato, Mexico, where she took Spanish classes and volunteered at an orphanage. "I was working at a friendship bracelet craft station but had never made one before," she shared about her experience there.

Ann Eisenberg, dean of the Honors College at EMU, expressed excitement about welcoming new scholars: "They come from different backgrounds but share a passion for learning, service, and leadership."

The scholarship aligns with EMU's mission to promote student success and engagement. Eligible students can apply during their senior year of high school.

Eastern Michigan University was founded in 1849 and serves nearly 13,000 students across various disciplines. It is recognized for its excellence and diversity.
