Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is organizing a Thanksgiving drive-thru event to distribute meal essentials to the community. The event, titled "Thankful For You" Drive-Thru Giveaway, will take place on Thursday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti.
The initiative is led by EMU President James Smith and Connie Ruhl-Smith, along with other university officials and partners such as EDining/Chartwells, EMU Credit Union, Ann Arbor Community Foundation, Meijer, and numerous volunteers. The giveaway aims to provide Thanksgiving staples like turkeys, hams, and locally grown produce. Each vehicle will be limited to one set of items.
The purpose of this event is to uplift spirits during the holiday season while showcasing local food growers and highlighting EMU’s appreciation for its community.
