The City of Ann Arbor issued the following announcement on May 21.
The upcoming Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25, will result in delay of the City of Ann Arbor's curbside trash, recycling and compost collection. Monday pickups will instead occur on Tuesday, and the rest of the collections will occur one day later throughout the week. The normal Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday, May 30. Commercial customers with weekly Saturday service through the city franchise with Waste Management will receive Saturday pickups without delays.
City of Ann Arbor government offices, including the Customer Service Center at Larcom City Hall and the 15th Judicial District Court at the Justice Center, will also continue to be closed to the public due to the city's response to COVID-19. Safety services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules throughout.
Parks activities
While city outdoor pools will not open this year as they typically do Memorial Day weekend, there are still countless activities that can be enjoyed in the more than 160 city parks and nature areas. Please see complete details at www.a2gov.org/COVID19parks.
Nature trails — Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation has mapped six trails to explore (https://www.a2gov.org/departments/Parks-Recreation/play/Documents/2020_trail_map.pdf – PDF) and is providing some statistics about Bird Hills, Black Woods Pond, Cedar Bend, Furstenberg and Marshall nature areas and Mary Beth Doyle Park.
Ann Arbor Farmers Market — On Saturday, May 23, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is open for preorders and onsite sales, 7 a.m.–noon (and on Wednesdays). Options are available to shop onsite or to preorder from vendors with curbside or walk-in pick-up options. Golf — Play nine or 18 holes at Huron Hills and Leslie Park golf courses. Tee times may be reserved and paid for online only. Golf carts may be used following stated safety protocols. FootGolf is also offered at Huron Hills Golf Course. Learn more at www.a2golf.org.
Athletic courts and fields — Athletic fields and basketball courts may be used individually or by members of the same household only. No organized or team game play is permitted. Tennis and pickleball courts are open, but no doubles play is allowed.
Disc golf — With locations at Bandemer and Mary Beth Doyle parks, disc golf may be played following physical distancing guidelines.
Dog parks — The dog parks at Broadway, Swift Run and Olson parks are open with physical distancing guidelines in place. Visitors should wear gloves when entering and exiting at the admission gates.
Not available in the parks this holiday weekend:
Playgrounds, pavilions, shelters and the Ann Arbor Skatepark remain closed.
Argo and Gallup canoe liveries are not permitted to open at this time. Due to the recent rain, the water levels and current on the Huron River remain dangerously high and use of personal kayaks, canoes and watercraft is discouraged.
