City of Novi MI issued the following announcement on July 10.
Good afternoon, Novi!
Approximately 3,000 residents/businesses in Novi remain without power due to Wednesday's storm. We have been in contact with DTE Regional Manager several times over the past two days and are advocating on your behalf for power to be restored as safely and swiftly as possible.
From DTE:
The storms that went through SE Michigan on Tuesday and Wednesday caused more than 210,000 customer outages and nearly 1,000 downed wires.
DTE has brought in more than 700 local and out-of-state contract crews to help workers restore power.
DTE currently has more than 30 crews working in Novi to restore power. The Novi area has multiple broken poles and downed wires due to falling trees.
If you see a downed wire, please stay at least 20 feet away from it and anything it is touching. Consider it to be live.
For those still without power:
The Novi Ice Arena (42400 Nick Lidstrom Drive) will be open during the following times this weekend and provides a comfortable space to cool off, charge any mobile devices and has showers available, if needed.
Friday: until 6pm
Saturday: 9am-noon
Sunday: 3 -10pm
We will continue to reach out to DTE Regional Management throughout the evening and until power is fully restored. Wishing you a safe weekend!
