City of Novi recently issued the following announcement.
It's Fire Prevention Month and did you know that of the nearly 40,000 fire departments nationwide, Novi is one of just 1,789 to have achieved an ISO Class 2 rating?
The Insurance Services Office (ISO) reviews specific areas of fire protection then assigns a rating. Class 1 represents a department that delivers superior fire protection, and a class 10 designation does not meet ISO’s minimum criteria.
The City of Novi’s previous classification was a “5.” Currently, there are only 17 fire departments in Michigan that have achieved a Class 2 ISO rating.
With a total of 1,399 departments in Michigan that have been rated, this places the Novi Fire Department in the top 1.2% of fire departments throughout the state with a Class 2 rating.
