City of Ann Arbor Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan 11.
Congratulations to Sgt. Denny DeGrand on his retirement! Sgt. DeGrand followed in his father’s footsteps and became a 2nd generation AAPD Officer in 1996. He had a well-rounded 25 year career including; SWAT, field training officer, motorcycle unit, patrol mountain bike trained, firearms instructor, honor guard and helped create and lead the Ann Arbor Police Benevolent Association.
He was promoted to Sergeant in 2017 and remained on patrol supervising the night shift, as well as the field training program.
Thank you, Sgt. DeGrand. You will be missed!
