PUBLIC NOTICE: Community Participation Meeting: 945 Clark Rd

City of Ypsilanti issued the following announcement on Jan 12.

A community participation meeting will be held Monday, February 7th, 2022, at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse located at 100 Market Place, Ypsilanti to discuss a proposed development project at 945 Clark Rd. The meeting will still take place at the Freighthouse at 100 Market Place Ypsilanti, MI. However, it is strongly encouraged to attend virtually since the meeting will be held in a hybrid format.

There shall be time at this meeting for those present to ask questions, discuss, and identify among themselves potential Community Benefits, and recommend resident members for the ad-hoc committee discussed in Section 30-527(B) of Ordinance 1325. Applications for appointment shall be made available for resident members of the ad-hoc committee. The Developer shall be present at this meeting to present information and answer questions. This notice is being provided no less than 30 days in advance per the requirements of Ordinance 1325 and is subject to the Open Meetings Act and its records subject to the Freedom of Information Act.

Within 15 days of this community participation meeting, City Council will establish an ad-hoc committee consisting of one Interested Councilmember; and five to eight residents of the City of Ypsilanti. City Council shall select the Interested Councilmember among themselves to serve on the committee. The Mayor, subject to the approval of City Council, shall appoint the remaining members of the committee with at least three members being selected from those recommended at the community participation meeting identified above. The purpose of the ad-hoc committee is to identify Community Benefits mutually agreed upon with the Developer and make a recommendation to City Council.

The City invites all interested persons to attend this meeting or to send written comments to the City of Ypsilanti, Community & Economic Development Department, One South Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197.   The City of Ypsilanti will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired, Limited English Proficiency (LEP) services, and audios of printed materials being considered at the meeting. Individuals requiring auxiliary aids or services should provide two (2) days’ notice to the City and contact the City by writing the City Clerk's Office, One South Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197; or by calling the Clerk’s Office at (734) 483-1100.
