ALERT: Powdered Infant Formula Recall

Washtenaw County Health Department issued the following announcement on Feb 19.

ALERT: Powdered Infant Formula Recall. Three brands of powdered infant formula were recalled on February 17, 2022, for possible Cronobacter contamination. FDA is investigating several consumer complaints about sick infants who were fed powdered formula.

Recalled powdered infant formula includes the brand names Similac, Alimentum, and EleCare. The recall currently includes:

Similac Advance

Similac Total Comfort

Similac for Spit Up

Similac Sensitive

Similac  Alimentum

Similac Elecare

Product code: First two digits are 22 through 37, and the code on the container contains “K8,” “SH,” or “Z2”

Expiration date: 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later.

Do not feed infants recalled powdered formula. Throw it away or return it for a refund. Parents or customers with impacted product should visit similacrecall.com or call +1-800-986-8540
