City of Northville issued the following announcement on Apr 5.

The Northville City Police Department (NCPD) is seeking voluntary accreditation from the state, which requires the agency to comply with 105 standards. On April 7, assessors from the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC) will be on-site to review the department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

Members of the general public can provide comments to the assessment team on Friday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. by calling 248-449-9910 or emailing the accreditation program manager at nrossow@michiganpolicechiefs.org. Phone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the commission’s standards.

A copy of the standards is available for review at the police department, 215 W. Main Street in Northville or call 248-449-9921. Learn more about the process to be accredited as an exemplary police department on the city website: https://tinyurl.com/mrx2dmj5
