Master Plan Revision

The planning commission is beginning work on a revision of the City of Houghton Master Plan.

1,922 Quality of Life surveys were sent to residents in early September.  The surveys are due by October 14th.  The results will be compiled and presented to the commission by our intern, Stephanie Franco, in January of 2023.

Open House Events will take place in the City Center Council Chambers and will be facilitated by Pat Coleman of North of 45.  They are scheduled for:

Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 5-7 pm

Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 5-7 pm

Residents, business owners, landlords, and all those with an interest in the city are encouraged to attend one of the events.

INFORMATION FROM THE MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE REVISION OF CHAPTER 10 DOWNTOWN AND CHAPTER 13 ZONING AND FUTURE LAND USE IN 2021.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, the planning commission formed the Master Plan Committee to work on the revision of Chapter 10 Downtown and Chapter 13 Zoning and Future Land Use.  Committee members are:  Bill Leder, Chairperson, Michelle Jarvie-Eggart, Vice Chairperson, Kristine Bradof, Secretary and Jennifer Julien.

The committee met five times throughout 2021 and prepared a final report of their work.  Attached below.
