Eastern Michigan University is set to host its annual Fall Job Fair on November 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Student Center Ballroom. The event, organized by EMU's University Advising and Career Development Center, will feature over 70 employers from various sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, and government.
The fair aims to assist EMU students and alumni in career advancement by providing access to numerous job openings and internships. An estimated 250 to 350 attendees are expected to participate, engaging directly with potential employers.
John Carlson, senior corporate relations manager at EMU’s University Advising and Career Development Center, highlighted the fair as an opportunity for students and alumni. "The EMU 2024 Fall Job Fair is a fantastic opportunity for students and alumni to meet with employers from across the region that have open and available job and internship opportunities they're looking to fill today," Carlson stated.
The event will commence with a readiness room where students can obtain professional headshots for social media. A team of career professionals will be present to facilitate student-employer interactions. Attendees are advised to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resumes.
Carlson expressed pride in the students at the career development center: “We are proud of our students at the career development center and are grateful for all the amazing opportunities that our students have to achieve their personal and professional aspirations - and this includes all our amazing community employer partners who are loyal to Eastern Michigan University and the amazing talent that we have right here on campus.”
Students planning to attend should register via Handshake, EMU’s career development platform, for additional details about the event.
