Eastern Michigan University's Master of Science in Innovation & Strategy program has been ranked among the top 50 entrepreneurship programs in the United States. The program holds the No. 9 spot in the Midwest, according to The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.

The rankings for 2025 were based on a survey conducted by The Princeton Review during the summer of 2024. Nearly 300 schools across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe participated, with more than 40 data points considered, including school programs, faculties, students, and alumni.

Graduates from Eastern Michigan's entrepreneurship program are establishing themselves as founders and leaders across various sectors. This success is credited to EMU's interdisciplinary approach that equips students with tools for opportunity assessment and strategic decision-making.

"Our interdisciplinary and applied approach to graduate entrepreneurship provides students with critical tools for evaluating opportunities, understanding market demands and making entrepreneurial decisions," said Sanjib Chowdhury, director of EMU’s Center for Entrepreneurship Management.

The program offers flexible learning formats such as online and hybrid options. A unique field study course allows students to collaborate directly with small business owners on real-world challenges. Partnerships with local entrepreneurs enhance experiential learning opportunities.

An executive certificate in entrepreneurship has been recently introduced at EMU. This eight-week hybrid program targets professionals seeking to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

"We encourage students with diverse educational backgrounds to take our graduate entrepreneurship courses," Chowdhury stated. He noted that new graduate students can pursue an MBA with an entrepreneurship concentration or a graduate certificate in entrepreneurship through hybrid or online formats.

The Princeton Review is recognized for its educational services including test-prep courses and tutoring. A print feature about this ranking will appear in Entrepreneur magazine's December issue available on November 12.

Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University serves nearly 13,000 students across various disciplines through its multiple colleges. The university is regularly acknowledged for its excellence and commitment to applied education.
