EMU's #GivingTrueDay raises over $2 million for student success

Eastern Michigan University held its annual #GivingTrueDay on December 3, successfully raising over $2 million for student success initiatives. The event united alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students in support of scholarships and campus programs.

The campaign saw contributions from 1,110 donors, culminating in a total of $2,033,907.23. EMU President James Smith emphasized the importance of these contributions: “These contributions play a crucial role in enabling students to succeed and in strengthening the University as a whole.”

Funds raised during the event will enhance student experiences by providing academic support and promoting equity and inclusion initiatives. Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of EMU Foundation Maher Salah noted the significance of community involvement: “The collective support from alumni, friends, and the campus community is truly inspiring. Every gift represents a commitment to creating opportunities and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.”
