Eastern Michigan University's College of Business has launched a Professional Development Digital Badge to enhance students' career readiness. This initiative addresses a gap identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers 2023 survey, which reported that only half of employers find college graduates proficient in professionalism.

"The Professional Development Badge empowers our students to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workplace expectations," said Alankrita Pandey, professor of Management and director of the Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development China program at EMU. "This program is an investment in their futures, equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive in a competitive job market."

The badge offers EMU College of Business students a chance to stand out in the job market by enhancing their ability to demonstrate competencies effectively. It can be shared on LinkedIn.

The badge consists of four self-paced modules through LinkedIn Learning: Presenting You, Professional Networking, Business Etiquette, and Professional Integrity. Students can complete it in about 15 hours, earning LBC4 credit. The first 100 business students who sign up will receive it for free; others will pay $20. Participants completing the badge during the winter semester will be celebrated.

Students interested are encouraged to visit the webpage for more information.

Eastern Michigan University was founded in 1849 and serves nearly 13,000 students across various disciplines. It is recognized for its excellence, diversity, and commitment to applied education.
