Eastern Michigan University has been recognized for its online cybersecurity master's program, securing the 11th position on Cybersecurity Guide's list of the most affordable programs for 2025. This ranking underscores the university's focus on providing quality education while keeping costs manageable.

"EMU is honored to be featured on the Cybersecurity Guide for 2025," said Sean Che, professor and interim director of Information Security and Applied Computing. "I’m so glad that Eastern’s cybersecurity programs are represented and that the efforts we put into funding and creating an education program that aids in student success are acknowledged."

Affordability is a significant concern for students pursuing advanced degrees. The Cybersecurity Guide research team developed its rankings based on academic offerings in university master’s programs and tuition costs.

To qualify for this list, universities must be designated as a "Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity" by the U.S. National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security. Eastern Michigan University is one of 17 universities in Michigan with this designation, which recognizes institutions meeting standards in educating cybersecurity professionals.

The EMU Cybersecurity master's program is offered online and aims to equip graduate students with skills necessary to protect local, regional, and national security within one year.

Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University is the second oldest public university in Michigan, serving nearly 13,000 students across various degree programs. It offers more than 300 majors, minors, and concentrations through its Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Business; Education; Engineering and Technology; Health and Human Services; along with its graduate school. EMU is frequently recognized by national publications for excellence, diversity, and commitment to applied education.
