Membership in Business Professionals of America (BPA), a national career and technical student organization, has paved the way for success for many of its members. Among the programs offered is the Workplace Skills Assessment Program, which allows students to compete in over 80 skill competitions across various fields such as business, technology, finance, and health.
Anders and Davin Lindwall began their journey in the BPA chapter at West Iron County High School in Iron River, Michigan. They achieved multiple top honors in BPA’s state and national Digital Media Production and Video Production Team competitions.
Following high school, the Lindwall brothers continued their success in film school by launching their video production company, Childe. Their debut feature film "Green and Gold" marks their entry into the film industry.
"Green and Gold" is an inspirational movie that highlights family, community values, and football through the story of a small-town farmer. Writer and director Anders Lindwall stated, “Our goal was to tell a story that was authentic. In today’s world, many people are focused on conflict, life being hard, and all the nasty aspects. Green and Gold shows the essence of the beautiful parts of life that have kind of been pushed to the back burner.”
Lee Rometti, a former business and technology teacher at West Iron County High School said about them: “Anders and Davin were talented and passionate students. They could have pursued many different career fields and found success in them all. But they have always been very creative and had stories to tell.”
Like other movie productions, "Green and Gold" was a passion project taking years to complete. Lindwall reflects on this experience: “The hardest and most rewarding part of the process and this film was getting support. In the end, we built a lot of relationships with farmers and Green Bay Packers. Getting their support, seeing their excitement, and telling a story about them was all worth it.”
Family values are central to Anders' work ethic; he gives back to his alma mater by offering internship opportunities for Michigan students at one of his company's locations in Colorado. Rometti added: “After the Lindwalls moved on to college then onto their own businesses they continued investing into my program & students often coming back encouraging teaching inspiring my high school students."
Lindwall reminisces about his time with BPA: “Mr. Rometti changed course our lives saying BPA would allow me take passion video think from career standpoint experience gave practical implementation what like business world.”
