Eastern Michigan University (EMU) has unveiled its new Bachelor of Business Administration program in Financial Planning and Wealth Management, as featured in the latest episode of EMU Today TV. This program, set to commence in Fall 2025, aims to address the anticipated 133% growth rate in the financial planning field over the next decade. Charles Teague, department head of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems at EMU's College of Business, detailed that the curriculum is aligned with the Certified Financial Planner program, preparing students for the CFP exam upon graduation.
The episode also highlighted a new initiative focused on student mental health. Ron Flowers, chair of EMU's Building a Community of Caring Task Force and interim department head of Leadership and Counseling at the College of Education, spoke about this effort to support students' emotional well-being. Flowers underscored the importance of fostering a caring community through a holistic approach to student welfare and emphasized faculty engagement with students on a personal level.
Now in its eighth season, EMU Today TV is produced by the University's Division of Communications. The program is led by Walter Kraft, vice president for communications at EMU, alongside Mark S. Lee who serves as host. Lee is also a part-time lecturer in marketing at Eastern Michigan University and contributes to various Detroit-area media outlets.
