Eastern Michigan University's Financial Management Association (FMA) chapter has achieved notable success at the 2025 Finance Leaders’ Conference. The university's teams secured top positions in national competitions, showcasing their skills in finance and investment strategy.

Karen Craig, faculty advisor of FMA-EMU, remarked on the achievements: “These accomplishments highlight the dedication, expertise, and hard work of our finance students. Competing at this level allows students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing them for successful careers in finance.”

The EMU team comprising Joseph Skinner, Jaida Turner, and Jonathan Wild claimed first place in the Investment Challenge. Their firm valuation analysis and strategic insights impressed a panel of industry experts. Another team from EMU, consisting of Aidan Panter, Najeebah Abdus Salaam, Cole Raggett, and Gabriel Geha, earned third place in the same competition.

Additionally, Eric Foor, Moemi Mori, Zach Robinson, and Anyah Johnson from EMU secured second place in the investment analysis poster competition. They were recognized for their thorough research and presentation skills.

A donation from EMU supporter Stephen Klotz facilitated access to Bloomberg terminals for the students. These tools were instrumental in conducting market analysis and enhancing financial modeling skills.

Students also engaged with financial professionals through site visits organized with support from EMU alumnus Michael Pugh. Visits included organizations such as LISC—where Pugh is CEO—Goldman Sachs, the New York Stock Exchange, UBS, the United Nations, and Shenkman Capital.

The Finance Leaders’ Conference is hosted by the Financial Management Association International. It provides opportunities for professional development and networking among students, faculty members, and industry leaders. Eastern Michigan University's continued success at this event underscores its commitment to academic excellence.

Founded in 1849 as Michigan's second oldest public university, Eastern Michigan University serves nearly 13,000 students across various disciplines through its multiple colleges.
