Transportation

City of Ann Arbor - Public Transit issued the following announcement on April 8.

City of Ann Arbor Public Safety will participate with public safety agencies throughout Washtenaw County to show their support and gratitude to the local medical community amid the COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, April 8, at 8 p.m., public safety personnel will assemble and begin a vehicle procession starting at University of Michigan Hospital and proceeding to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

Public safety vehicles will use lights only, no sirens. All personnel will remain in vehicles, per the “Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order restricting group gatherings.

Though city buildings are currently closed, the city maintains critical services such as police, fire and emergency operations; drinking water; waste water; and solid waste and recycling collections.
