EMU student secures prestigious internship with Gulfstream Aerospace

The GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) has announced that Cecilia Vesperman, a junior in the Interior Design program, has been selected for an internship with Gulfstream Aerospace. This opportunity marks a significant achievement as she becomes the first student from both the college and the interior design program to secure such a position.

Gulfstream Aerospace is renowned for its luxury business jet manufacturing and offers internships that provide practical experience in aviation design. Vesperman expressed her excitement about the opportunity: “When I found out I was going to be an interior design intern at Gulfstream for the summer, I was incredibly excited and genuinely honored to have been selected for a position I know had many highly qualified applicants.”

During her internship, Vesperman will engage in various tasks related to aircraft interior design. These include working on sample boards, renderings, drawings of aircraft designs, aligning customer requirements with marketing goals and Federal Aviation Administration standards, and collaborating with industry professionals.

Vesperman credited Professor Diane Guevara for informing her about this opportunity and assisting with the application process. She also thanked Barb Gehring for helping rework her resume.

The GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology offers programs in engineering, cybersecurity, aviation, construction management, autonomous vehicles, drone technology, among others. The college aims to foster intellectual growth through research-informed education.
